The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe Book Club
Hey friend,
Almost a year ago I started a Children’s book club….And I named it -drum roll please- Enchanted Children’s Book Club!
I will write a “How to Start a Children’s Book Club” blog post soon! The Wild + Free Book Club book inspired me. If you do not know of books to read or need help or ideas I recommend buying this book! I have linked it below.
The Book
When I pick a family read aloud or a book for book club, I like to think about the season we are in the year. I chose The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe during the winter and snowy months because, well, Narnia haha.
After I chose the title I let the moms in our book club know. I wanted to do it all (pick craft, treats, decorate, and so on) for our first book club because I wanted to set an “expectation” for it. All the sweet families in the book club know how intentional I am with creating magical moments, but I still wanted to set that example in a group setting. I recommend if you are starting a book club to do this!

The girls LOVE to plan and decorate. I wonder where they got it from haha. We decided that a “Always Winter, Never Christmas Tea Party” was the right way to celebrate The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe! Thalia and Kailani helped me set the paper tea cups while I placed our treats on the platters and laid out the flocked garland. Everything was sweet and simple.
Treats:
Milk with chocolate chip cookies
Artisan bread with raspberry jam
and of course, Turkish Delights!
We held our book club at one of our local libraries for free! Only downsize is that for this specific library there is a person limit. That was fine with me since I knew that I wanted to keep my book club small and intimate.
Call your local library and ask if they have any free rooms that you and your book club can rent (or put on hold).

I found the cutest printable on Etsy for the craft (I have linked below). During the craft I asked one of the moms to give a little background about Turkish Delights the after I read discussion questions and the kids answered. After we finished our craft and discussion questions we had our “tea party".
The girls wore their cute crowns made of fabric. It is such good quality! I have linked below.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe Book Club was a success! We all had such a lovely time.
I hope this is able to inspire you on your book club journey, mama.
