Summer Neighborhood Movie Night

We have been kicking off summer with The Sandlot and s’mores for many years in our little family! We celebrate the start of summer and Fourth of July with this American movie classic!

This year we did things a bit different and decided to invite our whole neighborhood to our little tradition!

Look at our sweet past...

The Invitation

I created this invitation on Canva. Canva is a moms best friend! Canva has so many awesome free templates for everything and anything you need! You pick the template and edit! I added The Sandlot movie cover inside the rolling camera for an extra detailed touch.

After I created on Canva I printed them out on thick card stock. My girls got their bikes and were ready to hand deliver them to each and every one of our neighbors, it was the sweetest thing to witness.

The Set Up

I wanted our movie night to be chill and easy. I did not want to stress out about it at all (But let’s be real… There’s always some stress haha).

For the decor I used things and fabric I had at home. I did but the baseball banners, which I will now use every year! I printed out the movie cover and my favorite s’more scene and use as decoration. I love my Party Posts! I use them in ALL my events!

S’more Time

A few other mamas helped me provide s’mores for all the neighbors! Things, especially food, can be so pricy so all the help HELPS, you know!

The neighbors brought so many other goodies, including FRIED ICE CREAM!

Movie Night

The movie started at 9pm ( I know, so late haha) because it gets semi dark at that hour! This is our second summer in Utah and I am still in shock that it gets dark soooo late ha!

We all had such a great time! It was awesome chatting with all our neighbors and spending quality time with them. The kiddos had a blast making s’mores over our fire pit and watching The Sandlot in their sleeping bags!

Oh, I also provided glow sticks! Those were a hit!

Mamas, I encourage you to reach out to your community and make an effort to connect with them. I am not wanting to put more on your already filled plate, but connection is so beautiful and after hosting our neighborhood movie night I recommend it 100%
