The Chocolate Touch Book Club

My sweet friend, Charlie, was in charge of choosing the book title and planning the book club. She KILLED it! She chose The Chocolate Touch! It’s always so fun to read a book that you know NOTHING ABOUT! My girls and I throughly enjoyed it.

Charlie picked all the yummiest treats, fun activity and craft! I am forever grateful to all the mamas that sign up to lead a book club meeting!

The Feast

We ate chocolate, more chocolate….And did I mention…Chocolate? Haha! We did, however, sprinkle in some fruit!

The Decor

I always print out the book cover and a few illustrations from the book and hang them up! It’s such a simple but loud decor to display! My husband made these awesome huge chocolate bars with wood, foil, and construction paper! I used my Cricut for the chocolate letter cut outs. I bought brown plastic table cloths and cut them up to look like chocolate syrup.

The Craft

We made chocolate play doh! Every child was able to help pour, mix, or stir! We brought six children at a time to the kitchen. It was such a fun craft! I have never made homemade play doh, but after this I definitely plan to! Here is the recipe that was used!

The Activity

Charlie assigned one of the mamas to be the “store keeper.” Every child was given a gold coin (iykyk). The children got to test taste three different chocolates then choose their favorite. The dark chocolate won, surprisingly!

Mamas, if you have been thinking about starting a book club. Do it. One of my favorite times during the day is when I am reading our book club read aloud. I have made such beautiful connections with my girls.

You got this mama!

Xoxo,

Rudyko
