Spring with a Side of Snow Storm

Yup, this picture was taken in Spring…We planned to read Charlotte’s Web for our April book club. Spring felt like the perfect time to read about a baby pig being born and almost killed (thanks Fern for saving him!).

But not in Utah. Utah decided to have a snow storm the night before…

You Can’t Stop Us!

The mamas and I still decided to do an outside book club! My initial plan was to host in one of the many farms here in Utah. But since it was snowing, we couldn’t. My sweet friend, Emily, offered her beautiful backyard for us to host! Her backyard is full of chickens, ducks, and a cutie Border Collie doggie! It was definitely the next best thing!

Our treats were sweet & simple! My favorite sweet was this adorable pretzel spider web that my awesome friend made!!! I created these food labels so feel free to download them and use them!

Obsessed with these

The Activity

I created a simple Homestead Scavenger Hunt! Every child brought a clipboard and pencil (remember to let the parents know what items they need beforehand). Scavenger hunts are such a fun activity! The kids get to explore and hunt away.

The Craft

We molded cute Wilburs out of air dry clay! We just needed clay and toothpicks (to help mold). I created first place blue ribbons for every pig to take home!

I absolutely love these types of crafts because we end up using it as decor on our shelves at home! Keep scrolling to see!

Snow - 1 Book Club - 0

We had to cut the book club short because the snow started pouring down hard! And you know what? We freaking won! We all had the best time ever!

Don’t forget to take pictures! These are the good ol’ days mamas.

At Home

Here are some crafts the girls did during our Charlotte’s Web read aloud
