A Pirate’s Life For Me

Summer is around the corner (typing this all the while it is 40 degrees outside haha). But seriously, in a couple of months the days will be hot and the reading by a cozy fire will turn into reading at the splash pad (or a beach if you one of the lucky ones)!

Now it’s the time to plan a summer book club! What better book to read than the most famous adventure story out there, Treasure Island!

Treasure Island Book Club

I had so much fun picking themed foods to munch on during our book club! I use SignupGenius to create an online sign up sheet. After I have created the sign up sheet I sent the link to all the moms in our book club. Our book club is full of amazing mamas who help with soooo much! I wouldn’t be able to do this without them! They truly go above and beyond an I am just so grateful for them.

Here are all the fun treats we had! My fav were the Cannon Balls haha!

The Craft

Book club crafts do not need to be complicated…Although cutting up 25 ships & 50 flags probably is a bit haha! We created a pirate ship in the ocean using paper plates. Here is the craft we did!

The Activity

My sweet friend Crystina and her husband created this some “Walk the Plank” activity with shark fins! It was definitely the highlight of the day. The kids played on it and us mamas used it as a photo op haha!

The children also got to figure out their pirate name! Here is what I created!
